Airport Layover and Transit Guide
Make the most of your layover and understand what happens during a transit stop.
Short Layovers (Under 2 Hours)
- Head directly to your connecting gate — check the departures board on arrival.
- If your bags are checked through, you do not need to collect them.
- Allow extra time at large airports — some connections require terminal changes and shuttle rides.
Long Layovers (Over 5 Hours)
- Consider leaving the airport to explore the city (check visa requirements first).
- Many airports offer transit hotels for rest.
- Store your carry-on at left-luggage facilities to travel light.
Minimum Connection Times
When booking, our system automatically applies minimum connection time rules. If you book two separate tickets, you are responsible for meeting your connection.
Missed Connections
If a delay on your inbound flight causes you to miss your connection (on a single booking), we will rebook you on the next available flight at no charge.
Re-Entry Through Security
At some airports, transit passengers must clear customs and re-enter security for their connecting flight. Check your airport's transit procedures in advance.
