Passengers flying to, from, or within the EU have strong legal protections for delays, cancellations, and denied boarding.
When Does EC 261/2004 Apply?
- Flights departing from any EU airport
- Flights arriving in the EU operated by an EU-based airline
- Applies to all passengers including non-EU citizens

Right to Care
Regardless of compensation eligibility, you are always entitled to meals and refreshments, two free phone calls/emails, and hotel accommodation with transfers if an overnight stay is needed.
Extraordinary Circumstances
Compensation is not required for delays caused by extraordinary circumstances such as severe weather, air traffic control strikes, or security threats.
How to Claim
- Submit your claim online within 3 years of the flight.
- Attach your boarding pass and booking confirmation.
- Claims are processed within 10 working days.
